Masquerade on Broadway
An Immersive Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera.
I grabbed tickets for the final preview after hearing a glowing review to see this immersive show on Tiktok. 5 mins of passionate theater people repeatedly telling me to buy tickets asap was enough for me to part with my $210 for a GA ticket.
My Review:
This show represents everything great about theater. From the talent, the storytelling, the staging to the acting. I’m usually the first person to slink down in my chair when they call for audience participation, but this show managed to genuinely incorporate you in such a natural way that it avoided that awkwardness.
The constant moving around really made you feel like you were walking around the Opera and kept me easily entertained for 2 hours. It also allowed you to get so close to Broadway talent that you may as well be on the stage.
This felt like something completely different to anything I’ve ever done and something every Broadway fan should experience.
If you’re on the fence, go buy that ticket. It felt more like an experience than a show. I don’t think there’s any way you could feel like you didn’t get your money’s worth. The show just kept going and going, with dynamic staging, surprise moments, and an intimate theater setting.
Overall, I truly loved it and would happily attend again. Insane talent and excellent execution. A level of polish I haven’t seen in a show in a long time.
